I am from a military family and experienced many different cultures throughout my childhood. I graduated from Virginia Tech in 2016 with a degree in Biochemistry. At Virginia Tech I became involved in Alpha Chi Sigma, a professional chemistry fraternity. This is where I received my first taste of education, since we frequently had events to teach the public about chemistry. Additionally, at Tech I volunteered at a crisis hotline. My time at the hotline further expanded my knowledge of people and how to communicate.
I believe that every student can have a love for science and that they do not have to be afraid of it. All they need is some real world application and patience. I also believe in pushing my students to be independent learners and to think about science beyond just multiple choice questions. This expands their minds and their understanding of the world that they live in. My overall goal is to help students reach their own success, both in the classroom and outside.
