At TBCS, we believe that artistic development is critical to the growth of our students. Through our creative arts program, we cultivate students’ artistic and cultural awareness, as well as teach them problem solving skills that enhance their work in all areas of academic work.
In addition to our existing comprehensive visual art program, our Drama department produces musical and dramatic performances each semester in both Middle and Upper School. In 2012 we launched a new dance program in our custom dance studio. Students can also take Music Ensemble, AP Art History and Introduction to Digital Photography, new courses that expand and enhance our music and arts program.
Our extra-curricular clubs add even more fun and opportunities: our National Art Honor Society is active, and Art Club and Drama Club facilitates interesting and culturally enriching activities that all students can enjoy.
In 2014 we hosted our 1st annual Festival of Arts, a series of multi-arts events that we aim to put on each year for students, families and the wider community.

Supporting the Arts
If you are interested in supporting the arts at Trinity-Byrnes Collegiate School, please complete the Art Guild Sponsorship Form, or visit our Donate Online page and choose "Arts Guild" as the contribution area. Thank you!
Trinity-Byrnes offers the full range of performing arts – you can dance, act or sing. Or all three!
We are one of the only independent schools in the area with a dedicated Dance program for both Middle and Upper School. Our new dance studio is the perfect place to learn or develop your dance ability. Novices, experienced dancers, boys and girls are all welcome in Dance, taught by the renowned Director of the SC Dance Theatre, Susan Rowe.
Middle and Upper School students can choose our elective Drama courses, taught by Meredith Taylor, local author and Director of the Palmetto Players. Recent productions have included Grease, Into the Woods and High School Musical. Our upper school students also participated in the 2014 South Carolina Speech and Theatre Association (SCTA) festival, winning awards despite stiff competition from much bigger schools.
We currently offer Chorus in the Middle School, and Music Ensemble/20th Century Music History in the High School.
If you are a painter, sculptor, graphic designer or like the idea of exploring your creative side, then our Visual Arts program has something to offer you.
Our visual arts program begins in Middle School where students have the opportunity to take art as an elective for either a semester or a year.
In high school our offering includes Studio Art 1, Studio Art 2 and AP Art History, as well as semester courses in Beginner Photography and Art Portfolio.
Each student in Studio Art 1 & 2 creates an Art Journal.
Students explore both analog and digital skills in our semester photography elective.
